My family and I trailered in from Northern Michigan and rode with Donna for a day. She was a fantastic trail guide and we had a blast. Having someone who knows how to get around really allowed us to just relax and enjoy the ride. We never once had to worry about where we were going.  Her local knowledge and history was fun. Having a local who knows how to get around really allows you to just relax and enjoy your ride without worrying about navigation. In addition to that, she had great little tidbits of local knowledge and history. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone visiting the area, or even locals who just want a guided tour. She’s a great resource.

I’m not a sit down and write a review kind of gal unless it’s fully merited. Let me tell you Donna earns every star in her five star reviews!  Her communication from the time you’ve booked until she pulls away after the ride is top notch. She caters your ride to what you want to see/do and the level you’re comfortable with. She does an excellent job of gauging what you, your horse, & your group can handle. Keeping you safe and still catching as much of what Hocking Hills has to offer as possible. She’s knowledgeable about every aspect. My day with Donna by a landslide was one of my best days ever in the saddle! She’s amazing, book her early and enjoy the ride!!!

Donna is the most amazing guide!  More importantly she is there to talk you through the, at times, technical parts of the ride! She is so much fun to talk with and fits into your group like you have known her forever. I can’t say enough good about this lady. Being able to sit back and enjoy the ride and not worry about maps and what trail to take makes for a much nicer ride. Donna is booked out so far in advance because she is worth it!!!  We will return next year and we will book a ride or two with her again. Thank you, Donna, for everything.

Donna was fabulous. She took us out for an 8.5 hour day and patiently showed us all the major sites. Her history and knowledge made it that much more intriguing. Definitely recommend!

Donna is awesome!  We are so glad we hired her!  Even if I had an app that told me where to go every step I would still hire her. There were places we wouldn’t have gone if she hadn’t been with us to show us the way and educate us about exactly how difficult the trail was for our horses. We had such an enjoyable day!  Her price is very reasonable and I would have been willing to pay more for the same service. But I’m glad that she keeps her rates low so that she is affordable to all. Don’t forget to tip her when you can.

I can’t recommend Donna enough! It was fabulous to be able to ride this beautiful forest with no worries that the mule would read the map wrong getting us lost or or missing something! He was super happy that she would find water when he needed it! Donna was fun and knowledgeable to ride with and kind enough to watch over the horses so that we could climb and scramble and explore without a worry.

Mrs Donna is amazing and worth every penny I never use guides and it was so nice to just sit back and ride and not have to look for trail markers or stop and check the map constantly…. she does a great job communicating and finding out what your riding desires are and then making it happen… just book her!

We traveled from Virginia and NC, experienced trail riders with experienced horses and we were unsure about hiring a guide, why would we need one? After talking with Donna we just knew it would enhance our ride so much!!

No map reading, no arguing, no one missing out of the pictures!

She even cut limbs where a few trails were impassable. She knew all the trails like the back of her hand. She babysit our mounts while we played on Airplane Rock and again when we did a photo shoot at Conkle Hollow. She knew the best times of days to see different things and always gave us choices. She was so personable and flexible, we were in charge and she made our visit stress free! We even got little souvenirs from her company! We can’t wait to see the pictures she took at no extra charge. Highly recommend The Vacation Vaquera!!  We scheduled Donna on our very first day in Hocking Hills. She met us at our camp, Pinecreek and she had a route already planned for us to see as much as possible. This was our first visit to Hocking Hills and we did not know the trails.  We seen all of the major sights that day!!  We probably wouldn’t have found or tried a lot of the sights we seen that day without her!!  Do yourself a favor and hire Donna for a day.  We were there for a week and had a better understanding of the trail system plus she gives you a heads up on do’s and don’t on the trails!!

Donna is absolutely wonderful! We had a 10 year old girl in our group that couldn’t quite keep up. After our ride Donna went back to camp just to take the little girl and her dad out on their own little ride. It was very sweet. Our group loves to move out!! Donna didn’t hesitate to show us the good spots to giddy up and go! We would go back and hire her again!

We recently hired Donna to guide us on a full day of riding. Our goal was to see as much as possible in an all-day ride and she didn’t disappoint from the knowledge of the sites to the pictures she took of us was worth it. Yes, we all can read maps and yes, we can use apps but the option to sit back and take everything in was worth every penny!! We were able to ride 17 miles and not second guess are route once!!
